Recruiting: Last fall Jackson called a press conference in which most expected he was going to announce his decision to commit to USC (Southern Cal), but two days before the announcement he decided he wasn't ready to make that choice. A few weeks later Jackson again called the media together and in his high school library chose Southern Miss as his college destination.

Analysis: Jackson has flown under the radar in Mississippi's 2010 class, overshadowed by the likes of Andre Stringer, Dundrecous Nelson and Jalen Courtney. This season though he's emerged as one of the top prospects in the state. Trency and his Wingfield Falcons are 30-0 heading into the 6A south state tournament. He's been the catalyst to the success with play worthy of taking home Mr. Basketball. Trency is a smooth lefty that has a lot of elements to his game. He's extremely athletic and can finish well at the basket. He's an admitted streaky shooter that can fill it up when he gets hot. The part of his game that may go unnoticed is his passing ability, Trency has surprisingly great court vision. He is a grounded young man that has a lot of fun on the court and it translates over to his teammates.
