The Jackson State University researcher shot last week on campus is back at home Tuesday and recovering well, according to family members.

Andrea Scott was released from University Medical Center Monday night after doctors decided not to remove the bullets from her head.  Scott's husband, Bill, tells FOX 40 News that Andrea is understandably sore, but doing well in her recovery.

Scott, a chemistry research assistant at the university, was shot twice in the head during an armed robbery attempt in the parking lot outside the John Peoples Science Building last Monday night.  Bill Scott says the left side of his wife's face is still paralyzed.

JSU spokesperson Anthony Dean says that the incident is still under investigation and no new leads have surfaced.  In the meantime, university officials say they are working on upgraded security plans, which includes more campus cameras, lighting, and police presence on the campus.
