While you're out shopping and hoping to cash in on some good deals -- be on the lookout for those who want to sell you bogus items.

Hinds County Sheriff's investigators have gotten their hands on items that look like laptop computers, but if you take a closer look, you will notice it's a piece of wood under all the wrapping.

Another one of the items taken is actually a binder filled with looseleaf paper.

The items have price tags on them from major electronics stores.   Investigators also found MP3 players and bags full of pornographic videos.  Deputies arrested and charged Frank Hamilton and Eddie Handford for attempted false pretense.

Investigators found the men trying to see the items at the state fairgrounds to folks in town at the rodeo.

"These guys are what you call street hustlers and they're taking advantage of people who are just trying to get a little money, but now on the flip side if people weren't trying to get a little something for nothing, we wouldn't have to deal with anything like this," said Lieutenant Jeffery Scott.

Scott says some of these fake items may still be on the street.  If you are a victim of this recent scam, call the Hinds County Sheriff's Office or the Mississippi Attorney General.
